Billing and refunds

What you pay and when, updating your card, what happens if a payment fails, cancelling, and the 14-day guarantee.

One price, billed monthly, managed from your portal. Here is everything about the money.

What you pay

$129 a month, charged to your card on the day you first paid and on that date every month after. There is no setup fee and no contract. Receipts arrive by email from Stripe, our payment processor, and you can download every invoice from the billing page.

Update your card or see invoices

Open Billing in your portal and press Manage billing. Stripe's secure page opens where you can change the card, update the billing email and address, and download invoices. We never see your full card number.

If a payment fails

Cards expire and banks get nervous. When a charge fails:

  • Day 0: we email you. Your site stays live.
  • Day 3 and day 7: reminder emails. Still live.
  • Day 14: if it is still unpaid, your site shows a short "temporarily unavailable" notice and the editor becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted while the site is paused.

Update the card and the site comes back automatically within a few minutes. If the payment is never fixed and the card processor finally ends the subscription, it is treated as a cancellation and the timeline below starts from that day.

Cancel

Open Billing, press Manage billing, and choose Cancel subscription on the Stripe page that opens. You can also email us. Charges stop. Your site stays live until the end of the month you paid for, then comes down. You can sign in and export your content for 30 days after that. Here is exactly what happens to your site and data:

  • Day 0 (the subscription ends): your site shows a closed page, and we email you a download link for your content, good for 30 days.
  • Day 30: we close your account and archive your site's files. You can no longer sign in, but you can write to us and we will send you a copy until day 60.
  • Day 60: we permanently delete your site, its content and images, your form submissions and your account details. This cannot be undone.

We keep only billing records (for tax law), the reserved name of your site's address, and the list of guests who asked not to be emailed. Backups age out within 30 days.

Delete everything now

If you do not want to wait, the account owner can open Settings and choose Delete my site and data, then type the confirmation phrase. Your subscription ends with no refund and your site comes down. We email you a download link, and after a 7 day grace period we permanently delete everything. Until then you can sign in and press Undo the deletion. Undoing stops the deletion but does not restart your subscription.

The 14-day guarantee

If Essentials is not right for your church, request a refund within 14 days of your first payment. Open Billing, press Request a refund, confirm, and the first payment goes back to your card. Your subscription ends and your site comes down. One refund per church, no questions, no call. Export first if you want your content: after a refund the same timeline applies (kept 30 days, archived on day 30, permanently deleted on day 60).

Payments after the first 14 days are not refundable. Cancelling stops the next one.

Receipts for the church

Invoices show the church name you entered at setup. If your treasurer needs a different name or address on receipts, change it in Manage billing.

Price changes

If the price ever changes, you will get at least 30 days notice by email, and you can cancel before it applies.
